Terms and Conditions of Sale, Watkins Timber Buildings Ltd

These terms and conditions apply to the sale and supply of products manufactured and supplied by Watkins Timber Buildings Ltd (“the Seller”).

The Seller refers to Watkins Timber Buildings Ltd, 83 Heol Bryngwili, Cross Hands, Carmarthenshire, SA14 6LY and the website www.watkinssheds.co.uk.

The “Buyer” refers to any individual, company or organisation purchasing goods from the Seller.

By placing an order with Watkins Timber Buildings Ltd, the Buyer agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions.

Products and Materials

All timber buildings supplied by Watkins Timber Buildings Ltd are manufactured using natural materials. As timber is a natural product, variations in colour, grain, knots and texture may occur. These characteristics are normal and do not constitute defects.

Timber may naturally expand, contract, split or warp slightly as it adjusts to environmental conditions. Minor cracking, movement or shrinkage is a natural feature of timber and is not considered a fault.

Site Preparation and Base Requirements

It is the Buyer’s responsibility to ensure the base for the building is level, square and suitable prior to delivery.

The base must be capable of supporting the building and must be within acceptable tolerance levels for installation. If the base is not suitable or level, our installers may be unable to erect the building safely.

Guidance on suitable bases can be found on our website, however it remains the responsibility of the Buyer to ensure the base is correctly prepared.

If the base is found to be unsuitable on the day of delivery, we reserve the right to leave the building on a 'supply only' basis.

If a return visit is then required to complete installation due to an unsuitable base preparation that were not communicated beforehand, a re-call charge will apply to cover additional travel costs.

Access to the Site

Clear and safe access must be available to the installation area on the day of delivery.

Customers must ensure that gates, pathways, and access routes are wide enough and free from obstructions to allow materials to be carried to the installation site.

If access conditions differ from those described when placing the order, or if access is restricted, we may only be able to deliver the building rather than install it.

If a return visit is required to complete installation due to access restrictions that were not communicated beforehand, a re-call charge will apply to cover additional travel costs.

Presence on Delivery Day

A responsible person must be present on the day of delivery to confirm the exact location where the building is to be positioned. If nobody is available, a clear site plan must be provided in advance.

If no instructions are available and the correct location is not clearly identifiable, the building may be delivered on a supply-only basis. If we are then required to return to complete installation at a later date, a re-call charge will apply to cover additional travel costs.

Delivery and Installation Safety

When our delivery and installation team are on site, the working area must be treated as a temporary construction zone.

For safety reasons customers, children and pets must remain clear of the working area while installation is taking place. Once the work has been completed and the installation team confirm it is safe, access to the area can resume.

Watkins Timber Buildings Ltd accepts no responsibility for accidents or injuries where safety instructions have not been followed.

Payment

Full payment must be received no later than the day before the scheduled delivery date.

Payments can be made by card, or bank transfer (BACS). Payment instructions will be provided once your order has been confirmed. We accept Mastercard, Visa and Maestro. Unfortunately, American Express is not accepted.

All prices are quoted in Pounds Sterling and include VAT at the current rate unless otherwise stated. Any order that remains unpaid by 4:30pm on the day prior to delivery may have their delivery slot re-allocated.

Weather Conditions

Installation work is subject to suitable weather conditions. Severe weather such as high winds, heavy rain, or unsafe ground conditions may prevent safe installation.

If installation cannot proceed safely, delivery or installation may be postponed and rescheduled.

Photography and Media

Watkins Timber Buildings Ltd reserves the right to take photographs or video footage of buildings before, during and after delivery or installation for marketing and promotional purposes. When doing so we will ensure that personal details such as customer names, addresses or identifiable location information are not disclosed unless permission has been provided by the customer.

Ownership and Risk

Ownership of the goods will remain with Watkins Timber Buildings Ltd until full payment has been received and cleared.

Until ownership passes to the Buyer, Watkins Timber Buildings Ltd reserves the right to enter any premises where the goods are located in order to inspect, recover or remove them if payment has not been completed. During this period the Buyer must ensure the goods are kept in good condition and remain clearly identifiable.

Risk in the goods transfers to the Buyer once the goods have been delivered to the site or made available for collection.

Delivery Dates

Delivery dates provided by Watkins Timber Buildings Ltd are estimates and cannot be guaranteed. While we aim to fulfil orders within the given lead time, delays may occur due to factors outside of our control including supplier issues, weather conditions or third-party services.

We will make every reasonable effort to keep customers informed of any delays where possible.

Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

Final Notes

Watkins Timber Buildings Ltd reserves the right to refuse any order and to modify product designs or specifications without prior notice where necessary to improve quality or performance.
